Surface Water Rescue Technician – Class

Description

This class is perfect for those support personnel in professional emergency services, including DPSST, whose deployment requires the knowledge and execution of basic water rescue with rescue calls in the still water environments of canals, ponds and lakes.

This course is designed to provide students with a theoretical understanding and a practical knowledge of the basics of swiftwater rescue. This class includes one day of classroom instruction and one day of practical field exercise. Students are trained  in a wide variety of rescue skills including hazard recognition and equipment use, as well as basic shore and boat-based rescue techniques.
